More Asteroids are coming. Electric and analogue.
We have worked on this in social media and radio silence for a while until, we knew we could compete on global prices, but make frames in the UK. We were inspired by how Yeti made their steel F.R.O (for racing only) Frames in the 1990's. Manufacturing anything is about finding the right process. This is Asteroid's story and how we can get production back in the UK. All tubes are drawn in 3D CAD, then taken into a CAM program to be laser-cut. The basic Commuter frames have laser-cut T45 PG tubes. We are able to keep the prices down All stays are bent in Worthing. The KISS frames have double butted main tubes. All of this is then jigged and TIG Brazed in Worthing.

Sharing the same production processes as our cargo bikes, means that we can make anything using the same processes. Forks, Frames, which means we can make Bikes and e-Bikes - not just Cargo Bikes. However at Asteroid we want to create the best mid priced commuter. Long distance, short distance, a lot of riding is not the boring commute. Asteroid HQ are still aiming for the Million Mile Mission, with all bikes able to ride a Public Right of Way.
BMX bikes are small and compact, ideal for storing in your hallway. Asteroid have developed the ultimate commuter based on a BMX, but with MTB components and belt-drive. Disc brakes allow for more control when stopping reliability in the wet. We have some hidden screw points for simple wrap guards, however you can fit full guards as well.
This BMX Commuter frame can carry heavy loads and will fit the rear rack from the 20inch wheel Cargo Bike.
K.I.S.S. is a stripped back version of Gravel & MTB bikes, where the worlds are blending into one, so lets K.I.S.S. (Keeping It Stupidly Simple). Asteroid is all about the ultimate commuter, but we have based the Gravel & MTB versions on New & Old Skool MTB components and belt-drive. KISS frames have adjustable dropouts, so that you can run Single-speed and or Fixed Wheel. These frames were inspired by the 1990's Yeti FRO, however we have not gone for "classic" retro, "canti-lever" or "V" brakes we have opted for disc brakes. Disc brakes allow for more control when stopping reliability in the wet. We have some hidden screw points for simple wrap guards, however you can fit full guards as well.
Mountain bikes are comfortable and work well as a workhorse. Asteroid have developed the ultimate SUV commuter based on the MTB, but we have taken it further so that you can fit up to 26x4.0" tyres and belt-drive. Why? Fat tyres give the rider some comfort and with an electric motor there is not an issue of drag. This is perfect for work and weekends, being able to carry large loads. We have some hidden screw points for simple wrap guards, however you can fit full guards as well.
